Hmm, Microsoft, ….interesting…
I am not a very big fan of Microsoft prominently because of the lack of security they usually provide in their products(Xbox 360 getting hacked the first day it came out by Persians), but I can vehemently conclude that they do offer the most innovating technology first in the market. Even though sometimes its a bit weak and easy to crack, it certainly provides a baseboard in which other companies work on till perfection
So exactly what have they done…again? Two words: Surface Computing. What would you do if interacting with your computer was far beyond keyboard, mouse, or even virtual reality? You would initially think its impossible. Well Microsoft at a recent All things Digital conference in California, they introduced such a category in the technology market. Basically, this technology makes USING the computer a lot easier. No need for mouse and keyboards when you can use your fingers, pencils, or even chap-stick to navigate your way through.
Interesting eh? How does this Sci-fi gizmo work?
While going through some examples, Microsoft showed that if someone put a glass of wine on the surface, the outcome would be that the computer would show a list of recommended wines, other foods that would go well with it, and even from WHICH VINEYARD it came from. Sounds impossible but its very possible with Microsoft. In assisting the beauty of the technology, four components will be implemented for proper use. This also includes the fact that more than one person can access a computer simultaneously(finally!!!!) as long as the device triggering is accurately selected.
With such technology, their are companies trying to establish the investment for a better, lucrative future. Harrah’s Entertainment, T-Mobile U.S.A, and Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide will be some of the four companies investing for a profitable business. This would probably successful if Microsoft make what they show. With that said, the best option would be to buy Microsoft’s stocks when it comes out and look out for future updates on Surface Computing. Now only if they can improve upon their security, the company would be widely appreciated.

India taking the market share in the auto industry:
India is expected to grow its auto industry, faster than China, within the next 5 years. As we know, China’s auto industry has too expanded at a exponential rate, but India is just taking the lead due to its increasing population.
In retrospect, when China’s economy started expanding (still is), many auto manufacturers shifted towards to China to capture the market. This all caused many companies to dive in, in the hopes of making the soaring profits. Well, as India’s auto market expands, there are just countless opportunities for one to expand not only locally, but nationally, even globally. Many auto manufacturers such General Motors Corp., Honda Motor Co., Volkswagen AG and half a dozen other companies are planning to spend at least $6.6 billion on new factories to capture the market.
With the current population of 1.1 billion, and still increasing, the demand for cars is just going to increase. Maruti Udyog Ltd is one of the well known companies in India, who dominates the auto market. It supplies nearly half of the vehicles, on India’s streets. Also, in the year ended on March 31, passenger car sales climbed up nearly 21 percent. However, within the next 8 years, sales are expected to climb nearly 50 percent.

Statistics on the Auto Market-
- It costs about $7500 a year to hire a factory worker in India. In comparison, it costs GM around $57,000 to hire that same worker. Now, you wonder why they all outsource.
-Maruti, which is 54 percent owned by Japan’s Suzuki Motor Corp.,
- Maruti expects to sell nearly 250,000 cars globally by 2009.
Investing tips
Well, a really good investment right now in the global market would be India, and China. Also, not only the India’s economy is getting more stronger, and dominating, but the value of rupee has appreciated relative to the dollar. The rupee is getting stronger in the foreign exchange market. Investing in India’s auto industry can be really rewarding. Expansion is where the domination begins.

What’s new in the oil industry? The national average gas price is nearly $3.18. As gas prices continue to rise at a steady pace, and salaries remain the same, the problem comes down to less consumption. If people, don’t have the incentive to go out, and spend money, they simply won’t, thus, slowing the economy.
How are gas prices scaring off shoppers?
As gas prices keep going up the roof, people just spend less on other things. People are cutting back behind the wheel, eating more at home, and spending as less as they can. This is really causing the economy to slow down, because we consumers are the ones who decide the fate of the economy. We need people to go out there, and just help boost the economy, but with rising gas prices it is just not possible.
What are the expectations of gas prices, and the economy?
The future expectations of gas prices is just to increase as high as the national average upto $3.45 +. Due to such high gas prices, the economy is suffering a lower consumption, and declining in sales in many sectors of the market, including the service market. Also, the rising gas prices cause the prices of many goods to go up such as juice, milk, since transportation got more expensive. This happened because U.S gas inventories dropped by 34 million barrels.

Well, Finals are loading in and I am getting very tired of ALL this studying(not really). Updates will take place soon, I am going to write a few more articles…
In this upcoming week, the following articles have a potential of making it on MarketFort:
-Updated news of Linux and Microsoft
-New technology and business articles on stocks
-The new 41 cent- forever stamps and how it works…
Moreover, I will try to squeeze in a new section with miscellaneous business and market related jokes. Keep checking by for the new updates. I really have to change the heading by supplanting it with a banner… I am trying to work on that too; I am not that big of a fan by the default heading.

Most people will admit they love the Apple company (and the fruit) because of their iPods. Ever since their launch of the iPod, CD players and cassette players are a thing of a past. Even though they were not as successful in their MAC processors as Microsoft was, they still have a $70 billion + computer market. Now with this iPhone, Apple will have another boost to their company’s finance and a great increase in their revenue. What more can you do than wait for this product? Buy the Apple shares as they are most likely bound to rise.
So Apple iPhone is ready to go in the market. The FCC, Federal Communications Commission has given its approval for the iPhone to be launched by late June. The iPhone has all the requirements needed to be officially on the market. It passed all tests including maximum power output, radiation emissions and wireless spectrum compliance; thus, it can be in department stores ready to be sold if it wanted to.
Moreover, the FCC confirmed that the iPhone has everything it said it would before and it is a GSM phone. It means that it supports SIM cards. What’s interesting is that AT&T is building alliances with Apple in correspondence to the release of the new phone. AT&T is raising its network download speed to 500 kbps for the cause of this phone. The EDGE (Enhanced Data Rate for Mobile Evolution) technology that the iPhone will have will, however, only support 250 kbps.
More about the phone
As announced by Apple, this phone will be a touch-screen. With more capabilities than any next-generation phone, it will poison your wallet by $600. It will also feature a unique sensor where the screen will adjust itself in any direction you point the phone at (i.e. vertical or horizontal). Probably the best feature of this phone is that it has the iPod incorporated in it(thats why its called ‘i’Phone)The best option for young little minds who want this phone? Ask your parents for a gross revenue of $600.
