Your Broadband internet can get expensive now!

For those of you who do not know what broadband is, its pretty much Dsl. Well a lot of us watch movies online and now it can result in a deadly price. Broadband companies are PONDERNG on charging the freedom we young folks have of watching videos. Over the next four years the number of videos watched over the internet is expected to quadruple, with people moving from short clips to hour-long programmes. So since a lot of us already watch it, and it is usually slow on some sites, it seems the excessive use will get worse as time moves on.

The reason for this uprise is because downloading videos uses up a lot of “bandwidth”, which could cause problems for the broadband network. The more videos you watch, the more bandwidth you use. Sometimes you can get in trouble by your ISP for excessive use of bandwidth. Channel 4 and the BBC are to make it possible in coming months for viewers to download episodes of their favourite television programs. The BBC iPlayer, launched last month, gives viewers access to most of their programs.

So now with more companies like BBC giving out a free distribution of videos, this can dangerously affect the network costs of ISPs. And with the iPlayer launching, don’t expect a smooth ride with that bill. Those ISPs are going to charge YOU for the high use of bandwidth so internet WILL get expensive in near future.
