Delta merging with United Airlines

The rumors are around, and it is true that Delta is merging with United Airlines. Delta said it will reduce around $585 million in expenses, and it will be the largest in the aviation sector. What more? United Airlines, too had been seeking for a alliance, and I think them two will make a good merge. What to expect? Higher costs for traveling in flights, as petroleum price rises, and a domination from Delta.

Moreover, many airline companies had filed bankruptcies after the Sept 11 attack. So, this merge is more of a necessity, than a choice.

GM still doesn’t seem to stop. $39 billion loss.

General Motor’s Corp., one of the world’s largest automaker reported a hefty $39 billion loss in its third quarter.

“We do not believe this charge has any bearing on the management’s view of GM’s long-term prospects,” Rod Lache, a Deutsche Bank analyst in New York, wrote in a report. GM should be able to re-establish the tax assets “once it achieves a three-year cumulative profit position in North America.”

GM is writing down the tax assets because it may not be able to generate enough earnings to use the benefits. The move is another sign of a worsening outlook for the U.S. economy and auto sales, as GM cited mortgage-related losses at its partly owned GMAC LLC finance unit and “more challenging” auto-market conditions in the U.S. and Germany.

GM said the loss also included an after-tax gain of $3.9 billion from the sale of its Allison Transmission unit, $1.6 billion in pension-service costs related to prior labor agreements, and $400 million in charges related to its former Delphi Corp. subsidiary.

So much money is being lost in the auto market, when does GM realize that it’s better off to sell the company, or merge with someone. Toyota has been dominating the U.S. market, but the downturn of the economy has really struck GM. However, GM is trying to capture the expanding market in Asia, but the competition is server.

Another factor that has been causing GM to lose alot of its cash is - the cash drain.

GM has said the union retiree health fund will drain cash next year by $3.3 billion before adding $2.8 billion to cash flow in 2010 and $3.3 billion in 2011.

Pensions everywhere. That’s a good thing.

Script for my virtual film

My idea for the film is to entertain kids into having fun. We show them the things that are exactly the opposite of what is going to happen. Things like people going to the bathroom during test time. People cheating infront of the teacher, and the teacher encourages the students to learn professional hacking. This idea will persuade children to join as soon as possible.
Teaching the students that they will have a very good time will make them so happy that it will be their first choice. Also, another way is to host live line rider competitions in the video so the students are thrilled with the fun. People will be really attracted by some of these features.
Finally, show how good the teacher is.
Make the teacher do some fun things like do tricks and magic so the students do not doubt the teacher. Make the teacher laugh and act happy so the students think the teacher is not old and mean. Finally fooling kids around will make them totally positive to take this class and tell their friends to take it with them.

Letter, I wrote for a class. How is it, I need opinion

Dear Mr.Braman

We have designed a website that will increase revenue by a myriad if the plan is implemented. First off, increase in advertisements about the unique aspects of the car will be shown in TV for the organism’s attention. Next, Billboards will present evidence of the car’s beauty and its horsepower. Moreover, Ads would be diffused in the internet for a rapid growth in desire of the user’s feelings. Manipulating of one’s attention and proving that the car offers what the man needs will thrill the “want” and convert it into a “need”. Major web sites like Autotrader.com and Miami.com will be loaded with the information about Braman Cars. Last but not least, with such great effort and skill, nearly all of the cars occupied by many households will be a product of Braman Cars.

India Poised to Grow Faster Than China’s Auto Industry

India taking the market share in the auto industry:

India is expected to grow its auto industry, faster than China, within the next 5 years. As we know, China’s auto industry has too expanded at a exponential rate, but India is just taking the lead due to its increasing population.

In retrospect, when China’s economy  started  expanding (still is), many auto manufacturers shifted towards to China  to capture the market. This all caused many companies to dive in, in the hopes of making the soaring profits. Well, as India’s auto market expands, there are just countless opportunities for one to expand not only locally, but nationally, even globally. Many auto manufacturers such General Motors Corp., Honda Motor Co., Volkswagen AG and half a dozen other companies are planning to spend at least $6.6 billion on new factories to capture the market.

With the current population of 1.1 billion, and still increasing, the demand for cars is just going to increase. Maruti Udyog Ltd is one of the well known companies in India, who dominates the auto market. It supplies nearly half of the vehicles, on India’s streets. Also, in the year ended on March 31, passenger car sales climbed up nearly 21 percent. However, within the next 8 years, sales are expected to climb nearly 50 percent.

Statistics on the Auto Market-

- It costs about $7500 a year to hire a factory worker in India. In comparison, it costs GM around $57,000 to hire that same worker. Now, you wonder why they all outsource.

-Maruti, which is 54 percent owned by Japan’s Suzuki Motor Corp.,

- Maruti expects to sell nearly 250,000 cars globally by 2009.

Investing tips

Well, a really good investment right now in the global market would be India, and China. Also, not only the India’s economy is getting more stronger, and dominating, but the value of rupee has appreciated relative to the dollar. The rupee is getting stronger in the foreign exchange market. Investing in India’s auto industry can be really rewarding. Expansion is where the domination begins.
