Blockbuster - going out of the game of business

Yep, just read it in the blogosphere that blockbuster{ one of largest provider of movie/game/ rentals} is going out of business, as it suffered a hefty loss of $35 million in the last quarter. The company has decided to close its 529 stores, and leave the game. On contrary, netflix has taken the sector in which they provide very competitive prices, and NO LATE FEES. Blockbuster was notoriously known for its nasty hidden fees such as excessive late fess, and very unsatisfying customer service. Ouch. The company kept rebuilding itself, but netflix was just too far to even have a competition.

Businesses are ran by customers. Unsatisfied customers means no potential growth in the long term.

FPL. Florida Power and light giving more features than ever.

Okay, so here I am in the car flipping through radio channels, and suddenly heard FPL- I was like woah, hold it up that is going on marketfort.

What are they offering?

They have some great tips on energy savings, and most importantly, a service which tells you how much power is being used at your house. Unfortunately, they don’t detect my phone number and area code, so  I didn’t check. I think what I checked was power outages, not exactly sure if you can check the power status. Heard it on radio though.

Well, check and see  use some tips to have a efficient holiday break.

Happy Halloween- What does the market have for Halloween

The market is always unpredictable and for halloween it gave us a Trick. Too bad usually it gives us a treat, but for now its a very unfortunate treat.

U.S recalls 43,000 lead tainted Halloween teeth, because they contained high levels of lead. Additionally, 6,000 sets of military-style Elite Operations toys were recalled, including action figures and vehicles, and 1,500 Ribbit board games. Do note, that all these products are distributed by the chain stores of “Toys “r” us”. Additionally many other products were recalled just as the collecting candy buckets, just because for the simple reason: high levels in lead, which can cause brain damage, slowed growth, learning disability, and changes in behavior.

Anyways, hope you all had a safe H4ll0w33n.

Interesting post on the World’s richest man- Mukesh Ambani

Is Mukesh the richest man? Well, many claim his stake in petroleum doesn’t count, but that doesn’t stop him, because eventually when the rupee gets higher in authority relatively to the dollar, Mukesh will seize rank 1.

Economy downturn doesn’t stop Costco.

We see just about every company nationwide, is suffering from the economic downturn. However, nothing seems to stop our friend Costco from making that bling bling ( profit).
Costcos’ shares jumpedto a record high Wednesday after reporting fourth-quarter profit rose a better than expected 4.7%.

Net income rose to $372.4 million, or 83 cents a share, from $355.6 million or 75 cents a share a year earlier,

The income is quite stellar, and the main reason of them gaining so high is them charging the membership fee. That accounted for more than half of the pretax profit.

What else?

Costco sure knows forex because, sales in the quarter ended Sept. 2 rose 3% to $20.09 billion, helped by foreign-currency translations.  Costco’s Shares are currently $68.98 COST rose 5.67, +9.0%.

Membership fees rose to $388.2 million after Costco increased the number of members and last year raised membership rates by $5 each. The company has 520 warehouse clubs, including 385 in the United States and Puerto Rico. Costco said that it plans to open as many as 35 net new locations, plus one more in Mexico, as well as up to 10 relocations in the new fiscal year

Sometimes, we tend to think $5 is not much, but when it’s in large quantity, it turns into a goldmine. Costco had a 4% increase in the U.S sales, and 9% overseas.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

If you’re like me, you can’t wait for anything star wars to be released. Now with no more movies coming out video games are the next best things. Fighting with light sabers is something we’ve all fantasized about when we first heard of the Wii-mote interface, but can it really be true? Can it really work as well as one would hope? My opinion is for it to work right; the game would have to match your Wii-mote moves exactly. Also complete with sound effects, and your hits on your saber should trigger a rumble in the Wii-mote or something. And though there is added light saber content for the Wii, it shouldn’t feel tacked on. The combat should be as realistic as possible and you should have to get good at saber fighting to progress. Not have some other way to get through the same obstacles.

390895397_7dbed78a44_o.jpg

If it’s done well, this could sell Wii’s like nothing before. Imagine crossing sabers with your deepest foes, say, Darth Vader or Darth Maul, or if you’re of the dark-side, Obi-Wan Kenobi or Luke? I’m ready for this to turn out lame or even not near as involving as I’d like, but the potential is extremely exciting. Kind of wish they’d gone with HD output, since this fairly cries out for serious resolution on as big a screen as you can find!

275px-starwarstheforceunleashed1.jpgThat’s all my deep thought into this but now into the known details about the game. According to www.lucasarts.com the game comes out with two completely new and innovative technologies, Digital Molecular Matter by Pixelux Entertainment and euphoria by NaturalMotion Ltd. These groundbreaking technologies combine with Havoc physics to create true next-gen game play and the Force like it’s never been seen or experienced before. The DMM lets the objects around you act as they would in real life. When you throw a baseball at glass it breaks different every time. With DMM wood breaks like wood, glass breaks like glass, and metal dents like metal. Not only does it act in natural characteristics of the object but it also depends on the force and direction it is being asserted on. This truly is groundbreaking technology to make it look like real life. Also the game comes out with Euphoria which allows the characters to act as real humans with a brain and nervous system. What do I mean by this? I’m talking about when you throw a person off a roof of a building, a human would try to act on instinct and grab on to something. Bots now act with human like AI movements and reactions unique to each character.

forceunleashed.jpgIn Star Wars: The Force Unleashed players will play as Darth Vader’s “Secret Apprentice”. The expansive story, created under direction from George Lucas, is set during the largely unexplored era between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. In it, players will assist the iconic villain in his quest to rid the universe of Jedi - and face decisions that could change the course of their destiny. According to www.lucasarts.com. Keyport Slide!

The new Keyport Slide has a very nice futuristic look to it as well as a nice practical idea behind it. Are you tired of shuffling through all your keys to find the right one for the right match? “Now, imagine if you had one universal key fob that could integrate all the items below along with your metal keys in an exquisitely designed shell the size of a pack of gum.” This is what Keyport will do for you. Converting to Keyport is as simple as having each of your keys copied to a compatible blank and attached to the internal slider apparatus. By simply pressing the buttons on either side of the shell you can slide each of your keys as they click into place for use.

keyport.jpg

This is an item everyone should have. It takes up little space and is easy to use. While using one of the keys all your other annoying keys are hidden back in the storage container. No more jingling and no more hours of trying to find the right key. Their headline summarizes it all with…. “THE CONVENTIONAL KEY HAS FINALLY BEEN UPDATED FOR THE 21ST CENTURY.”.

forum2.jpg <!–[endif]–>

Patience is a virtue, as has been the relatively short wait for the Keyport Slider and the inventor’s uncanny and demanding attention to detail. This innovative and much-desired product makes so much sense and will grab millions of consumers, worldwide, by their eyeballs … “instantaneous acceptance at first sight.” Next, I suspect, comes the highly anticipated product marketing plans that the Keyport creator has just as cleverly crafted. Keeping the supply just below the demand will cause a public shout. So don’t wait! Their will be a limited supply at first. Make sure your one of the first to use this revolutionary idea and reserve your keyport today at keyportusa.com! Also check out checkmytech.com!!!

Sprite with Ice!

Recently coke introduced its newest idea for their product Sprite that when opened, ice will be created inside the bottle from chemical reactions. I feel this is a great idea since I can’t drink any type of soft drink without ice in it. The only downside about drinking soda on ice is that it dilutes the soda. This is all fixed with their idea. Since the ice is created with the soda it won’t dilute it and have a super chilled temperature to it also.

.sprite.jpg

The only downside with this is that it can only be sold with special vending machines and won’t work if left in room temperature. They are advertising there new product as sprite Super Chilled and it could be launched in the UK as early as next year. Coke hopes the drink will tap into the trend for alcoholic drinks, particularly beers. I’m not sure how they’re going to get beer to freeze since alcohol only can freeze at -5. But it should be interesting finding out.

I personally think this is going to be the next coke zero and increase their annual earnings at least 20%. It’s a great idea and a great invention on their part. I know I’ll be buying these special sprites just to see the ice form! Also check out checkmytech.com!!!
