Macbook Pro

The all new MacBook Pro is making big noise in the tech industry. This new MacBook Pro is over 50% quicker then its old version. It’s powered by the most advanced mobile processors that Intel have. It has a built in camera so you can easily set-up video meetings. The computer is super easy to use and it shouldn’t pose any problems for even a novice computer user. It has a 15 inch screen which is a great size for laptops. You can get this laptop for around $2000 but it’s definitely worth every penny. I would think about getting one of these if I ever purchased a laptop.

Business tools

One thing is clear, and that is having a efficient business requires to be updated with the latest gadgets in the technology sector. A business that lacks in basic technological resources such as updated printers, and other hardware accessories, is hurting no one, but itself. At ITplanet.com, you can get all your business needs for this holiday season without a hassle.

What exactly do they offer?

Many stores sell a conglomerate of products, and it is sometimes hard to find the “top” of the line in specific product you are looking for. ITplanet, exclusively focuses on hardware and they include receipt printer, portable data terminal, Zebra barcode label printer, bar code scanners, and even security camera systems. The holiday season is in nearby?, well I’d say it’s in session, and missing out on sales due to lack of resources would be a very nonchalant mistake.

Sony online store

Sony has various plans to expand its company for the holiday season, but can this be the right one?

Check out this press release.

Sony on Tuesday announced that it is opening up its PlayStation Store–an online source of downloadable games and other content–to PC users. No longer will the store be the exclusive province of owners of Sony’s top-end video game console, the PlayStation 3.

PlayStation Portable users will now be able to download games via Sony’s PlayStation store.

The company said that the move means that PlayStation Portable users will now be able to download games via the store. Those games include “classic” PlayStation games, as well as a series of new PSP games available only through the PlayStation store. Existing PSP games will also be available.

Among the store PSP exclusives are Syphon Filter: Combat Ops and Beats, both of which cost $9.99 on the store.

The move is probably a good one for Sony, since it means that PSP users will be able to get access to games without having to go to a store to buy them. And for the company’s video games unit, which is in strong need of a boost come this holiday season, any expansion of its market is a plus.

However, there’s no way to know how much additional revenue the move will produce, and even then, how it will be offset by any overhead costs associated with the expansion of the store to a new medium.

Buying an iphone in bulk is no longer easy

Yep, Iphone has announced that it will not sell any iphones in cash. No more cash. Is it because they have too much too carry, and the carrying costs causes them tension at night? No, apparently it’s not that, but it can be. They claimed that over 1.3million phones have been altered, and those hackers are kind of screwing them over. So to maximize, they will only sell on CC and only 2 per person. Go figure.

Here is the press release

Apple has apparently instituted a credit card-only policy for iPhone sales at its retail stores in order to guarantee supply for the holidays and frustrate potential resellers, according to multiple reports.

Would-be iPhone buyers must now present a credit or debit card if they want to take home an iPhone, and they’re also now limited to just two units, as they were on iPhone Day, according to The Associated Press. The AP quoted an Apple representative explaining the move as a way of making sure there are enough iPhones for the holidays and to prevent unauthorized resellers from flooding the market.

It’s not clear whether the same policy applies to AT&T stores. I e-mailed the Apple representative quoted in the AP report late Friday evening and haven’t heard back.

Before Thursday, when the policy was implemented, you could walk into any Apple store and plunk down cash for up to five iPhones. While the concerns about supply are harder to gauge from a distance, the credit card policy seems designed to make sure buyers leave a paper trail.

You can’t really enforce a purchasing limit if the customer pays cash. How would Apple know if I walked into the downtown San Francisco store this afternoon and bought two iPhones with cash, then drove over to the Stonestown Galleria or down the road to Palo Alto, and picked up two more? Would-be unlockers might also be wary about using a credit card to pay for their purchases, even though unlocking isn’t illegal. Apple is definitely paying attention to the market for unlocked iPhones, estimating earlier this week that 250,000 people have purchased an iPhone with the intention of unlocking it from AT&T’s network.

Apple is apparently well within their rights to refuse to accept cash, as outraged as our resident libertarians might feel. U.S. businesses don’t have to accept cash if they don’t want to, according to the U.S. Treasury’s Web site, unless there is a state law that specifically requires them to accept cash.

I’m sure there are at least a few people who were thinking about equipping their family of four with iPhones this Christmas. The reports make it sound like the restriction will just last throughout the holidays, but that hasn’t been clarified as of right now.”

Only through holidays? I guess they want to maximize during the main season. who care after holidays.

Facebook teams up with RIM

Not too long ago, Facebook sold 2% of its company to microsoft for a hefty amount which was around $240 million. Facebook is one of the top 10 sites visited in the U.S., and it has approximately 10 billion pageviews a month. Additionally, Facebook was valued at $15 billion dollars  Well, now facebook is just on the streak of expansion, and just about every giant in tech industry wants to have some of the goods it offers.

Here is the press release for teaming up with RIM;

“College parties met business e-mail on Wednesday as Facebook Inc. said it is adding its social-networking platform to Research In Motion Ltd.’s BlackBerry devices.

T-Mobile USA Inc. will be the first carrier to build a Facebook application into the BlackBerries it sells, but BlackBerry users on any network will be able to download the application starting later Wednesday, Facebook Co-Founder and Vice President of Engineering Dustin Moskovitz said in a keynote address at the CTIA Wireless I.T. and Entertainment show in San Francisco.

In the keynote, Moskovitz demonstrated taking a photo with a BlackBerry Curve device, adding tags to it and posting it to Facebook without even starting up the Facebook application. Other features include the ability to set special ringtones for Facebook events and invite friends to join Facebook through BlackBerry e-mail. But it’s the open nature of Facebook’s platform, which allows third parties to add new applications, that sets the company apart, Moskovitz said.

The tie-up brings together the highest profile social-networking player, with almost 50 million active users, and an enterprise mobile pioneer vying for market share against Microsoft Corp., Palm Inc., Symbian Ltd., Apple Inc. and other device and OS vendors. Executives of the two companies met at the CTIA Wireless Show in March in Orlando and agreed to work together, Moskovitz said. Openness is the key factor they had in common, he said.

Starting from a base of thousands of colleges and high schools, Facebook last year opened its network to anyone, and members over 35 years old are the fastest-growing segment, Moskovitz said. RIM has its roots in corporate e-mail tied to specialized enterprise servers, so the partnership could help Facebook grow right where it’s catching up.

The announcement came as Microsoft was buying a $240 million minority stake in Facebook, a purchase that values the company at about $15 billion.

Facebook also announced a few other advances in the mobile arena, where it expects to have 4 million active users by the end of this month. There are Facebook services available on most major U.S. and Canadian carriers, and Moskovitz announced its first carrier deal outside North America, with O2 (U.K.) Ltd.”

Ths is defiunitely taking social networking to the next level. T-mobile is going to be a tough one once it has such type of apps on its phones. AT&T are you listening? Buy t-mobile now.

AT&T Profits surge- due to wireless division.

AT&T is on profit strike. It increased its profits not only from the smooth integration from bellsouth’s wireless empire, but also because from iPhone’s wireless service. (Yes, iPhone service is only available via AT&T).

Shares of AT&T (nyse: T - news - people ) rose 69 cents, or 1.7%, to $41.86, in early trading on Tuesday, after the telecommunications provider said its third-quarter profit rose 41.5%, to $3.1 billion, from $2.2 billion a year ago.

AT&T’s main surge was not only the acquisition of Bellsouth and Cingular for $67 billion, but also the release of iPhone. 1.4 million iPhone have been sold, and not only Apple is benefiting, but so is AT&T. AT&T boost its third-quarter sales 92.9%, to $30.1 billion, from $15.6 billion a year ago. That’s a great turnout, and buying Bellsouth has definitely been worth it.

On the contrary, Shares of Apple were up $13.08, or 7.5%, to $187.44, in early trading on Tuesday.

HP- #1 in the Retail market for PC’s.

As we all know, Dell had been facing some difficulties a while back in selling its PC to consumers. As they did make some showroom somewhere in Texas, to process orders, but eventually they came down to selling at branded stores such as Walmart, Comp USA, etc. Well, I found something interesting on HP dominating the retail market. The new hp laptops are very fast, but also very sleek in design as well.

“HP retained the #1 spot for global PC shipments in the third quarter, according to IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly PC Tracker. Overall, PC shipments grew by a healthy 15.5% for the quarter. All top 5 vendors in shipments saw increases in marketshare compared to the same period last year except for Dell. Dell’s marketshare was down 1.7% compared to the third quarter last year, but still placed the company comfortably at second place. Lenovo came in third for the quarter with 8.2% marketshare, followed closely by Acer at 8.1% and then finally Toshiba at 4.4%.HP held the top spot thanks to its 19.6% marketshare and 33% growth in shipments year over year. Other manufacturers with significant year-over-year growth included Lenovo with 22.9%, Acer with 59.2%, and Toshiba with 17.3%. Dell was the only company in the top 5 that saw single digit year-over-year growth of 3.8%.”

Acer too has been capturing the market. They have some great laptops and best of all, really good price. Toshiba is bit iffy, but not bad. I think they need a better battery plan, and maybe some more models. Oh yeah, a little price cut as well.
